The Ayurvedic Approach to Health

The Ayurvedic Approach to Health

Central to the Ayurvedic approach is the principle of eating right for your body and mind type with the main aim being to prevent illness and disease so, ideally the moment you notice anything different, any niggle, you feel out of sorts or if you just don’t feel right that is the time to seek advice. Unfortunately, most of us have forgotten what it’s like to feel great & have no real understanding of how good our bodies are designed to feel so we miss the signs and it’s not until we are ill that we seek out a solution.

Thankfully, Ayurveda can also be used to treat a variety of diagnosed illnesses and ailments including many common conditions which are just accepted. Don’t suffer in silence, if you are struggling with an illness or disorder exploring this natural healing system might just be the answer you are looking for.

  • asthma
  • eczema and skin conditions,
  • digestive complaints,
  • womens problems,
  • fertility,
  • stress/fatigue,
  • weight loss,
  • anxiety,
  • arthritis
  • insomnia
  • and the list goes on…

Swastha Consultations

Unlike the modern approach of simply treating & managing symptoms (often accepting conditions as lifelong), the approach is holistic and personalized – treatment considers the whole person and aims to identify and eliminate the root cause.

Assessment begins with an initial consultation, during which we will have an in-depth discussion about your main concern(s) and explore all aspects of your physical health, lifestyle, relationship & family factors, work & body patterns and diet. Taking a full history enables advice to be tailored specifically to you. Ultimately the aim is to bring you fully back to your personal balanced state & optimal health using the principles of Ayurveda to readdress the balance, restore digestive function & cleanse the body.

Following the discussion, treatment recommendations will be made which include a combination of lifestyle advice, adjustments to be made to your diet & basic remedies. Where appropriate, and in the case of deeper level health issues, herbal medicines/oils and other adjunct treatments/therapies may be prescribed.

A 30 minute follow up session 4-6 weeks later is also recommended to check in on progress, make any adjustments and to agree on next steps.
